Sunday, March 8, 2026, Mama Daniella and Ton Ton Augustin visited the orphanage Centre Amani, where Sister Concille lovingly cares for the children.

They brought food and basic supplies and spent time with the children, sharing a simple meal together. It was a warm and blessed moment for everyone.

They brought food and basic supplies and spent time with the children, sharing a simple meal together. It was a warm and blessed moment for everyone.

Food purchased in a local commercial area (where prices are lower than in supermarkets):

• 25 kg rice• 25 kg maize semolina• 5 liters oil• 10 kg sugar• 1 large box powdered milk• 2 small boxes milk for the baby

Cost: 140 USD (about 322,000 Congolese francs, trader exchange rate 2300)

 

  • Additional items purchased in the supermarket:

Biscuits• chips• chocolate spread• jam• margarine• three types of pasta• apples• dried fruits• canned peas• drinks (water and lemonade)• body lotion• baby powder• baby body lotion• baby soap

Cost: 119 USD

The orphanage building is not yet fully completed. For the moment the children and caregivers rent a house, which creates additional monthly costs.

Items that cannot be sent will be sold or donated locally in Bruges, helping to build a bridge between here and there.
